International Baccalaureate (IB)
As Canada's oldest English Catholic High School, Regiopolis Notre-Dame has a long tradition of providing Catholic education in the Kingston and surrounding area. RND continues this legacy by providing the IB Diploma Programme within the context of a catholic learning environment. Many of our graduates have gone on to study internationally at Oxford, Dartmouth, Cornell, University of Auckland, NZ, as well as our outstanding Canadian universities such as McGill, U of T, and UBC.
Our RND IB faculty is committed to supporting candidates through the programme. All IB teachers complete specialized training through IB accredited Teacher Training Workshops, and they continue in ongoing professional development workshops with other IB teachers across the province. Our RND Student Services Department has an IB trained counselor dedicated to providing guidance and support in choosing the best IB options, subject choices, and postsecondary pathways.
International Baccalaureate Mission Statement
“The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right."
